Daniel McGrath to Lead Communication and PARL Ministries for Michigan Conference

Daniel McGrath has accepted the call to serve as Communication director and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) director for the Michigan Conference.

The Michigan Conference Executive Committee voted the appointment on October 28, and he will begin his new role on November 1.

McGrath started his ministry in Michigan in 2012 when he pastored the Houghton, L’Anse and Marquette churches in the Upper Peninsula. In 2016, he moved to the Rockford and Sparta churches, then in March 2022 began serving the Metropolitan Church in Detroit, where members have appreciated his leadership and care.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to serve as the next Communication and PARL Director for the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists,” McGrath said. “It’s a privilege to support our churches in sharing God’s message of hope and to strengthen the connections among our churches. I look forward to helping our churches grow and communicate the love of Christ more effectively.”

He earned a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University and his undergraduate degree in media and film from Eastern Michigan University. His wife, Isai, teaches math at ASPIRE Academy. They have two children, Ian, 9, and Aila, 6.

McGrath has written for the “Michigan Memo” and other Adventist publications, assisted the communication team during camp meeting and created media content for conference initiatives. His pastoral background and creative skills will strengthen both the communication and PARL ministries.
