GRUBBS, Carolyn M., age 93; born March 16, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo.; died Aug. 10, 2020, in Battle Creek, Mich. She was a member of the Urbandale Church in Urbandale, Mich. Survivors include brothers, Jim Grubbs, Harry Grubbs, Burgess Grubbs, and Charles Grubbs; and sister, Sue (Grubbs) Perkins. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lari Grubbs; interment was at Green Pond Cemetery in Pearl, Ill. 

HENDRICKS, Kenneth J., age 66; born July 14, 1953, in Holly, Mich.; died June 29, 2020, in Loma Linda, Calif. Survivors include sisters, Wanda (Harold) Blackwell; Louise (Bill) Smith; brother, Gary (Sabrina) Hendricks; sister, Mary (Richard) Bendler; five nieces and three nephews. lnurnment will be later this year in Mt. LUDEMAN, Robert “Bob”, age 91; born April 28, 1929, in Kolin, Mont.; died May 30, 2020, in Niles, Mich. He was a member of the Pioneer Memorial Church in Berrien Springs, Mich. Survivors include hi brother, Russell (Karin) Ludeman. Private family memorial and inurnment will take place at a later date in Hot Springs, Mont. 

McCALMENT, Frank, age 97; born May 14, 1922, in Veedersburg, Ind.; died March 21, 2020, in South Bend, Ind. He was a member of the Niles Westside Church in Niles, Mich., but previously a long-time member of 54 years at the Muskegon Church, in Muskegon, Mich. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Parmer); daughters, Cheryl Bishop, and Carol (Dan) Minter; sister, Eleanor Fleming; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial services were conducted by Pastor Daryl la Roux and Dr. Bruce Bauer, with private military inurnment. 

RORABECK, Richard, age 93; born April 2, 1927, in Hastings, Mich.; died July 11, 2020, in Royalton Township, Mich. He was a member of the Village Church in Berrien Springs, Mich. Survivors include his son, John A. Rorabeck; daughter, Donna J. (Rorabeck) Davis; half-brothers, Waynce Roush, and Ray Roush; half-sister, Carole (Roush) Hussey; and two grandchildren. TRUXAL, Kenneth Raymond, age 70; born Nov. 10, 1949, in Terre Haute, Ind.; died Aug. 1, 2020, in Terre Haute. He was a member of the Terre Haute Church in Terre Haute. Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Payton) Truxal; sons, Dustin (Evelyn) Truxal, and Matthew (Brooke) Truxal; daughter, Heather Zentner; four sisters; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held; interment was in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Terre Haute. 

WATTS, Helen (Kwiek), age 91; born Jan. 9, 1926, in Sandusky, Mich.; died September 2017, in Howell, Mich. She was a member of the Farmington Church in Farmington, Mich. Survivors include sons, Wesley R. Watts, William E. Watts, and Timothy J. Watts; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. HEISIG, Betty Lou (Olson), age 92; born Jan. 12, 1928, in Madison, Wis.; died July 22, 2020, in Monona, Wis. She was a member of the Madison East Church in Madison. Survivors include Gregory H. (Anita) Heisig, and James William Sr. (Becky) Heisig; and daughter Julie (Kent) Ganske. KANIPE, Juanita (Tyree), age 96; born Jan. 23, 1924, in Elizabethtown, Fla., died May 14, 2020, in Columbia, Mo. She was a member of the Metropolis Church in Metropolis, Fla. Survivors include brother, Bill Tyree; sisters, Cora “Dodie” Day, and Leafy Hazel; seven grandchildren; and one step-grandchild. Private inurnment. 

LaCOUNT, Ruth N. (Schroeder), age 95; born Oct. 13, 1924, in Corunna, Mich; died July 13, 2020, in Bark River, Mich. She was a member of the Wilson Church in Wilson, Mich. Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne (Lee) LaCount Hayford; and brothers, Jake (Arlene) Schroeder, and Keith (Beverly) Schroeder. MURPHY, Kathy A. (Ethridge), age 76; born Dec. 6, 1943, in Harvey, Fla.; died June 24, 2020, in Paducah, Ken. She was a member of the Metropolis Church in Metropolis, Fla. SNOW, Harold P., age 76; born July 14, 1943, in Marshfield, Wis.; died May 10, 2020, in Auburn, Wash. He was a member of the Bethel Church in Arpin, Wis. BULLOCK, Brenton Lee, age 88; born Nov. 27, 1931, in Fair Play, Mo.; died April 23, 2020, in Savannah, Tenn. Previously a long-time member of the Michigan Conference, he was most recently a member of the Savannah Church, Savannah. Survivors include his wife, Neva “Joyce” (Seamens); sons, Brenton Lee Jr., and Richard Lynn “Dick”; daughter, Cynthia Bullock Santos; foster child, Brenda Harvey; sister, Betty Ables; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. DEMEREST, Marvin “Demmy” Eugene, age 92; born Jan. 25, 1928, in Douglas, Mich.; died April 3, 2020, in Holland, Mich. He was a member of the Holland Church in Holland, Mich. DRAPIZA, Mila (Tubillara), age 73; born Sept. 12, 1947, in San Enrique, Negros Occidental, Philippines; died May 18, 2020, in Chicago. She was a member of the North Shore Church in Chicago. HOYT, V. Ann (Liles), age 84; born Dec. 2, 1935, in Birmingham, Ala.; died Feb. 27, 2020, in Cedar Lake, Mich. She was a member of the Urbandale Church in Battle Creek, Mich. HUFFMAN, William Gene, age 83; born on July 26, 1936, in Glezen, Ind.; died April 26, 2020, in Bedford, Ind. He was a member of the Bedford Church. Survivors include his wife, Alice Mitchelene (Tolbert) Huffman; sons, Marcus Huffman, and Michael Huffman; brother, Steven Huffman; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. LACY, Joan “Joann” Marie (Braun), age 63; born June 13, 1956, in Douglas, Mich.; died March 4, 2020, in Grand Rapids, Mich. She was a member of the Holland Church in Holland, Mich. Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Lee Lacy; stepson, Steve (Amanda) Lacy; daughter, Brittany (Trevor) Oseland; stepdaughters, Tammy (Ronald) Aemisegger, and Michelle “C.C.” Christensen; sisters, Annelise Braun, and Elaine (Randy) Slikkers. BALK, Joan (Bleth), age 88; born Sept. 17, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wis.; died May 4, 2020, in Neosho, Wis. She was a lifetime member of Milwaukee Central Church in Milwaukee. Survivors include her son, Les Balk (Carri Conquest); daughter, Charmaine (Kenny) Balk Knoll; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, John (Nora O’Brien); and nieces and nephews. BEKOWIES, Erich C., age 89; born Oct. 3, 1930, in Detroit, Mich.; died March 22, 2020, in Surprise, Ariz. He was a member of the Pioneer Memorial Church in Berrien Springs, Mich. Survivors include his wife, Karen (Johnson); son, Michael (Alyssa); daughter, Wendy (Ed) Eberhardt; sister, Nancy (Don) Learned; and three grandchildren. BURNETT, Nella (Raines), age 95, born Nov. 24, 1924, in Akron, Ohio; died March 19, 2020, in St. Joseph, Mich. She was a member of the Pioneer Memorial Church, Berrien Springs, Mich. Survivors include her son, Keith (Melinda) Wilson; daughter, Maryann Wilson (Gary) Burns; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. POLLITT, Bonnie J. (Nutt), age 85; born April 14, 1934, in Kadoka, S.D.; died Dec. 17, 2019, in Berrien Springs, Mich. She was a member of the Pioneer Memorial Church in Berrien Springs. SNELL, Ruby V. (Brown), age 95; born Aug. 23, 1924, in Hinsdale, Ill.; died Nov. 25, 2019, in Berrien Springs, Mich. She was a member of the Pioneer Memorial Church in Berrien Springs. KONKEL, David W., age 79; born Oct. 4, 1938, in Phelps, Wis.; died July 19, 2018, in Phelps. He was a member of the Clearwater Lake Church in Eagle River, Wis.  Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Follett) Konkel; daughter, Darlene Suddeth. Memorial services were conducted by Rick Peters. 

 

REED, Annette Louis (Mallen), age 75; born March 15, 1945, in Oujda, Morocco; died July 29, 2018, in Grand Rapids, Mich. She was a member of the Urbandale SDA Church. Survivors include her husband, Lewis Reed II; daughters, Laura VanOrsdall and Rebekah; sister, Elizabeth Royce Miller; and two grandchildren. SANDERS, Myrna (Haley), age 79; born Dec. 7, 1939, in Dowagiac, Mich.; died March 24, 2018, in St. Joseph, Mich. She was a member of the Glenwood Church in Dowagiac. Survivors include her husband, Steve Sanders; sons, Rick Lillie and Doug Lillie; daughters, Vicky Lillie, Autumn Nelson and Cindy Yeoger; brother, George S. BYSLSMA, Alma Ruth (McClure), age 87; born Aug. 11, 1931, in St. Charles, Mich.; died Aug. 22, 2017, in Holly, Mich. She was a member of the Holly Church.  Survivors include her husband, Harold Bylsma; sons, Wayne and Wesley; and sister, Jean Ellen Hirchenberger.  Funeral services were conducted by Wayne Bylsma and Pastor Daniel Ferraz; inurnment was in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Mich.  

 

DRAKE, CAROLYN A. (Cockrell), age 92; born July 12, 1925, in Columbus, Miss.; died May 7, 2018, in Crown Point, Ind. She was a member of the Mizpah Church, Gary, Ind. Survivors include sons, Anthony Cherry, Richard Cherry and Michael Drake; daughter, Tyra Waddell; brothers, Samuel Cockrell, Joseph Cockrell and Travis Cockrell; sisters, Dorothy Walker and Yvonne Keen; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Memorial services were conducted by Pastor Leeroy Coleman.  

 

GRAVES, Lester "Buzz" E., age 89; born Sept. 9, 1928, in Yuba, Wis.; died April 10, 2018, in Waukesha, Wis. GUY, George Herman, age 87; born Dec. 18, 1930, in Lola, Kan., died April 22, 2018, in Lawton, Mich. He was a member of Weslaco Church in Weslaco, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Jane (Conrad) Guy; daughter, Janetta Steffen; son, Jonathan and James; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial and inurnment will happen at a to-be-determined date in Kansas.  

 

KINMAN, Dixie M. (Brown), age 73; born Sept. 27, 1944, in Marion, Ind.; died June 26, 2018, in Fort Wayne, Ind. She was a member of the Marion Church in Marion. Survivors include her husband, Larry W. Kinman; son, Roger W.; daughters, Dian and Joette; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted by Matthew Hasty; interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Gas City, Ind.  

 

KOEPKE-BLOCK, Catherine M. (Kiestra), age 89; born June 13, 1928, in Grand Rapids, Mich.; died May 15, 2018, in Shelby, Mich. SAUNDERS, Richard Eugene Sr., age 91; born Aug. 17, 1926, in Edgerton, Wis., died June 24, 2018, in Janesville, Wis. He was a member of the Madison East Church in Monona, Wis. Survivors include his wife, Jacquelin (Goodman) Saunders; sons, Richard Jr. and Donald; stepsons, Greg Minier and Mike Minier; daughters, Pamela and Beth (Phil) Saunders-Buss; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Titus Naftanaila; interment was in Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon, Wis.  

 

SCHMID, Walter P., age 92; born Oct. 12, 1925, in Detroit, Mich.; died March 30, 2018, in Clinton Twp., Mich. He was a member of the Warren Church, Warren, Mich. Survivors include his wife, Doris Schmid; son, Walter Jr.; daughters, Tina Bailey, Margie Tarnacki, Sandy Van Damme and Paula Pyles; brothers, Jacob Schmid and Richard Schmid; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Cory Herthel; internment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
